The Shadow and Light Series.
The canvas presents itself as a visual enigma, an invitation to step into the realm of dreams and the surreal. Against a deep black background, a symbol of infinity and mystery, stands out "The Projection of Illusion", a multi-faceted work.
From the outset, the viewer is confronted with the shape of a projector, almost anthropomorphic, its essence merging with that of an abandoned bench. A gradient of brown envelops the object, reminiscent of the patina of time and the softness of old memories, while a daring and mysterious opening on the right hints at a silver checkerboard.
This play of metallic reflections seems to capture the light, as if the object were both the source and the witness of an inevitable transformation.
Above, at the very moment of entering this space between the real and the imaginary, a sky-blue checkerboard unfolds its soothing geometry. The juxtaposition of this celestial pattern and the silvery contrast evokes the dance of a nascent morning, where light carves its way through darkness. A white opening at the top, like a window onto a luminous elsewhere, projects a saving clarity, reminiscent of a modern video projector in its ability to transform an image into a living experience.
This work thus presents itself as a metaphor for transformation, for art's capacity to bring forth the unexpected within the ordinary. It invites us to a contemplation where illusion becomes tangible, and where each element – the bench, the projector, the checkerboard – metamorphoses into an essential part of a harmonious whole, urging us to redefine our perception of reality.
