The canopy

With The Canopy, Aurore Michel-Grégoire explores the notion of thresholds and symbolic protection. Inspired by architecture and ceremonial structures, the work evokes a space that is both constructed and sacred, where geometry becomes a language of contemplation.

The composition, structured like an open architecture, plays on the superposition of planes and volumes. Angular forms create a shelter, a frame, a passage between interior and exterior, intimacy and elevation. The canopy is not merely a decorative element here; it becomes a symbol of protection, illumination, and separation from the world.

The chromatic contrasts, between deep blues and golden tones, establish a subtle dialogue between stability and light. Each surface seems to guide the eye towards a silent centre, suggesting a space for meditation, almost ritualistic.
