On a terracotta brown background, the colour of earth and origin, a fried egg rests above a jar of mayonnaise. It is the image of a completed transformation, a passage from the simple to the complex, from the natural to the manufactured.

The egg, fragile promise of life, has left its original form to merge into a new identity. Its shell broken, it is no longer itself, but a worked, homogenised substance, enclosed in standardised packaging. The silver part of the painting, a metallic glint, evokes the cold hand of the agri-food industry, that great modern alchemist which shapes, conditions and redefines the very essence of things.

Brown, meanwhile, whispers the memory of what came before, a connection to nature, to simple and pure origins. Between these two worlds, a question remains: in this metamorphosis, what is left of the egg?

This work questions inevitable transformation, not only of food, but also of ideas, beings and eras. It tells of the slide between authenticity and standardisation, between freedom and conditioning.

A cycle where essence dilutes, where identity runs wild, where nature becomes a product.
